Lydia Mischkulnig is an Austrian writer of novels, essays and columns. Her recent novel Die Richterin/ The Judge was highly honoured by critics and audiences. She studied film and music at the universities of Graz and Vienna. She has received the Bertelsmann Literature prize (1996), the Elias Canetti Stipendium (2007 and 2014), Johannes Beer Prize (2017), Appreciation Award for Literature, des Landes Kärntens (2020).
